I asked her to share with you just a bit about her and her site.
She says
I. Can't. Stop. Designing. Call it an illness, call it an obsession, or call it just plain genetics. I am the youngest of seven redonkulously talented children: writers, designers, dancers and teachers - all of whom work together. In my little piece of the family tree, I am the designer. The sprouts that I continually cultivate are web design {my full-time job}, interior design {my full-time crush}, print design {oh the things I would make if I had the time} and party planning {I heart a well-themed fete}. My blog, ohbrooke.com, is where I drone on about said sprouts and try to find which direction in life I should meander.
After working on home decorating shows for the HGTV and DIY Networks, interior design became a passion of mine. I don't always have the money to make my house as gorgeous as my friends or neighbors, but with a budget comes creativity. Me, I live in an itty-bitty condo with my uber-supportive husband, and our place isn't always perfect. I spend time here and there trying to create personality in my home and share my findings on ohbrooke.com
Brooke is absolutely fabulous, sweet, kind, generous!
I came across her blog and fell in love. So I invited her to be featured here before the site was even up and running. She agreed to be on The LOVELY List and offered some great design tips for the blog. I totally fell for her style and she ended up being the designer behind The LOVELY List.
I TOTALLY recommend her. Do see her here if you need some bloggity help :)
Peek post or two from OH BROOKE
Dear Mom, I'm sorry we made fun of you...
Week after week, my most important chore was to dust the trophies and the books on the shelves in the living room. This was no simple feat! Seven children, each with some fourteen trophies or so {maybe more from the more -ahem- atheletic of the bunch}. The Encyclopedia Brittanica lining the bottom shelf {the reading of which was threatened punishment should any of us squeel “I’m bored!”}, and rows and rows of endless books. Dutifully, I took each book off the shelf one by one, dusted it and replaced it, all the while making snide remarks about how you had so delicately organized your books not by name or topic, but by color. Should I need to do a book report on paintings, I wouldn’t move toward the non-fiction section of your personal library, but instead the area somewhere near hex color #F0d855. It didn’t seam logical to me or any of your other witty children, but today I’m having Oprah’s trademarked “AHA! Moment”. Please accept my sincere apologies for this blatent disregard for your artistic notion, and please enjoy this gallery I have put together JUST for you. Happy early Mother’s Day…

Birdie Baby Shower DetailsMy Bestie’s baby shower was Saturday, and my friends and I had a lot of fun! Here are some of the pictures of the details, unfortunately not all of it was captured on film, but most of the fun stuff was. We used the community room at my condo which provided contemporary furniture, seating for everyone, and a great roomy space. Instead of buying decorations, I grabbed all of the mis-matched pillows from my entire condo and put them on the furniture in the room. It made the room feel grown-up and cozy!
So, here are all the birdie-themed details, to match the birdie invitations:
I, of course, cannot take credit for those adorable cupcakes. Elida from ByElida.com created those, as well as the yummy tarts below. Those goodies on cake stands served as the perfect centerpiece. A metal birdhouse kept little notes that the guests wrote to the parents-to-be, and instead of games, we had a raffle for little bird-related gifts.
A full crepe bar for the ten o’clock shower was perfect to get everyone chatting and relaxed. I marked each ingredient with tags and menu holders… more for cuteness factor than for necessity. Whitney at Whisker Graphics helped me with all the paper for the shower, using our little nest graphic. Thanks Whitney!
Brooke also sells some great limited edition art.
